The extras to out thriller opening!

As we are making the opening to a thriller we wanted to include other extras that could go along with it, we did this is order to promote the film. Some of the designs that we came up with are shown below:
We have choose to do this in order to promote our film. We have used the use of bobble heads, phone cases, notepads and key rings. To make sure that we can get as much attention for the film as possible.
Film Poster:
As the first thing that anyone sees of new films will be the film poster we need to make sure that it stands out and represents what our film is all about. To get some ideas we looked at some other film posters that have been used in the past.

As we gathered from looking at these different film poster each one stands out for different purposes, each showing what is involved in the film and tells the viewers what is included in the film.
Our Thriller poster:
As you can see from the thriller it is very minimalistic and simple. It is a short snippet from part of the opening of the thriller. It is from the scene when the kidnapper walks out into the outhouse. We have the name of film at the top written in a spooky writing, also we have the two main characters shown on the bottom corner of both sides. The overall image is dark, with lighter parts coming from both the outhouse and the male individual standing in front of the camera. We came up with the name KK productions as it was simple and unique. As we didn't want to give everything away from just the poster, we just gave a small snippet that does not show anything other than the individual that is included and the outhouse.
The main aim for a thriller is to intrigue the watchers and keep them on the edge of there seats, also it wants to leave the watcher thinking about what will happen next. This meaning that they think that something is going to happen then it takes a turn.
Distribution:
In order to sell/ promote our thriller opening we will need to come up with a DVD case.
Just like the poster we wanted to make it simple, as we wanted to do this we used the image that we used on our poster onto the mock DVD case.
This is the DVD case that we finally came up with. It is very similar, just with the names of the main actors near the top and the individual man is not reflected.
Other ways of promotion:
YouTube:
YouTube is a good way of promoting a product, as it consists of many different viewers and users. As our target audience is for the younger generation this is a very good place to promote our thriller as many younger people now a days are using you-tube. As a part of YouTube it allows viewers to comment and like we will be able to use this to our benefit as use the feedback to improve.
The way in which we use youtube will be from the adverts which are shown when trying to watch videos/ clips.

Social media is a great way of promoting our thriller opening. Facebook will raise awareness, also to the right target audience that we are aiming our thriller opening too.
This is our mock Facebook page, individuals are able to view/ comment/ like on it. This will give us the chance to see what people think about it and the things that could be improved on it.

Just like Facebook twitter will allow our thriller opening to raise awareness and to get other peoples opinions on it.
These are the ways that we thought were the best ways possible for people to find out about our thriller opening and give there opinion.
Some of the feedback/ questions that we were given consisted of :
- " Looks fabb!!"
- " wow this is mysterious"
- " who is the guy in the white shirt?"
- " why has the man in the white shirt outside and wet?"
- "whats the mysterious looking building in the background?"
Mock Interview
We came up with a mock interview with the two directors of the film. In the Mock video it shows the directors responding to the quesitons of the different social media pages that were available. During the video it answers questions such as:
- What was the biggest problem when filling?
- How you did you pick the people to be cast?
The questions that we were asked shows a great response of how we wanted the viewers to feel about our thriller opening. ( Always wanting the viewers to question themselves)

Directors Commentary
Here is a clip of the thriller opening with the directors comments over it. This helps gather an understanding of why we choose the things we did. For example the costumes/ lightenings/ camera angles/ editing.
