Mise-en-scene - this is every aspect from a scene. Which includes:

The Setting 
Lightening 
Decor 
Costumes 
Props 
Performance
Framing of the shot. 

 The Decor: 
  • Decor is used to boost a characters emotion or the general mood of the film. 
  • An overall feel of the film. 
Lightening:



  •  The brightness of the light can change the way in which a picture is looked at.
  • They can focus on a particular element making it stand out and more dramatic. 
  • There is the "three point lightening" - the standard lighting scheme. 
High-Key Lightening:

  • Light in which is raised to the same level as the key light. 
  • It will tend to be very light and only showing a few outlines and shadows. 

Low-Key Lightening:

  • Image/ scene shown with very little light.
  • This kind of lighting is often used in dark films, as it gives off a very strong feeling. A sense of evil.

Costume: 

  • A costume is what the characters taking part will wear. 
  • A costume can tell us a lot about a character. For example if they are rich/ poor, or wealthy/ rich. 

Acting: 
  • The performance of the actors in due to the genre that they are playing in. 
  • Actors will show there emotion through there characters. - For example an actor will cry if sad or smile if happy.
